Job Opportunity: Registered Midwife

The Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Midwife to join our multidisciplinary team in the Maternity Services department.

  • This position involves working with women and families in antenatal clinics, labour and birth, postnatal care, and lactation services.

We are offering a 12-month Transition to Practice program for midwives, providing opportunities to consolidate knowledge and skills.

The successful candidate will work effectively within a team, interacting with women, families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.

Key responsibilities will include planning, implementing, and evaluating women's/family care in collaboration with healthcare team members.

Additionally, the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining and improving the quality of care, including involvement in research and evidence-based practice.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Current understanding of midwifery principles, procedures, and practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills.
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
