Student Wellbeing and Learning Support Specialist Role:

We are seeking a Student Wellbeing and Learning Support Specialist to support the delivery of student wellbeing services and programs across our state.

The successful candidate will have experience in supporting students with diverse needs, including Aboriginal students, students with disability and/or additional learning or behaviour needs and those at risk of disengaging.

The Student Wellbeing and Learning Support Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the development and delivery of state-wide services and specialist programs to enhance student wellbeing;
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify student needs and develop targeted support strategies;
  • Providing high-level written and oral communication and interpersonal skills to maintain accurate and comprehensive records;
  • Developing and delivering professional development programs for educators to enhance their knowledge of curriculum content and understanding of current trends in teaching, learning and student wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Education, Social Work or a related field;
  • Recent experience within the K-12 range or recent Non-School Based Teaching Service (NSBTS) experience;
  • Demonstrated commitment to participating in accreditation processes and implementing relevant education policies;
  • High level written and oral communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A proven ability to work collaboratively and liaise and negotiate with key stakeholders;
  • A demonstrated capacity to innovate, problem solve and develop creative solutions to emerging issues.
