Opal Museum Ambassador

Welcome visitors from all over the world to our national treasure, the precious opal. This is a unique opportunity to showcase Australia's rich history and geology.

The museum tour lasts approximately 45 minutes. As an ambassador, you will share knowledge about the formation of precious opal, the different types of precious opal, interesting stories from opal miners, and show them the opal collection.

You must be well-presented, sociable, have good voice projection, and be able to improvise. You should also be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and adapt to various situations.

This position includes some basic administrative duties but also specific museum-related tasks. It would be beneficial to have knowledge about Brisbane, its museum/art gallery scenes.

  • Duties: Delivering high-quality customer service face-to-face, as well as via email, phone, and text.
  • Museum Duties: Assisting with administration and minor museum-related tasks.
