About the Role

Our ideal candidate will play a pivotal part in setting our organisation's direction by leading the development of long-range strategy, delivering enterprise reporting and integrating performance intelligence.

The role brings together strategic foresight, planning engagement and enterprise reporting and messaging into a consolidated capability that supports leadership decision-making.

  • Lead the development and integration of our long range enterprise strategy and planning frameworks.
  • Deliver high-quality internal and external reporting including our Corporate Plan.
  • Interpret complex data and policy signals and provide system-level advice to guide our positioning.
  • Offer authoritative guidance on economic trends and the feasibility and implications of strategic directions.
  • Develop insights to inform strategic messaging and support the communication of our vision and outcomes.
  • Establish and continuously improve enterprise performance measurement and evaluation frameworks.
  • Provide strategic foresight through scenario modelling and risk-informed planning.
  • Steward our insight ecosystem – connecting data holders surfacing strategic questions and reducing duplication.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and the academic community to publish research that contributes to policy debate and establishes us as a thought leader in regulation and financial services.
  • Partner with agencies such as Treasury, Finance and APSC to ensure we are positioned to respond to and influence national policy agendas.
  • Represent us in external forums and participate in relevant communities of practice to ensure we remain informed of best practices in data analytics and economic modelling.
  • Build strategic capability across the organisation by modelling analytical rigour collaboration and clear direction.
  • Lead a high-performing multi-disciplinary team with a shared commitment to integrity, evidence-based decision-making and public service outcomes.

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, be able to build strong relationships and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be able to interpret complex data and policy signals, and provide system-level advice to guide our organisation's decision-making.
