Senior Risk Management Consultant

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Senior Risk Management Consultant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of client engagements to develop safety leadership and culture, reduce operational risks, and enhance systems and capabilities for safety and risk management.
Key Responsibilities- Lead delivery of client engagements to develop safety leadership and culture, reduce operational risks, and enhance systems and capabilities for safety and risk management.
- Act as Lead Consultant to deliver assessments, design and deliver training and coaching programmes, and develop operational risk management systems.
- Interface at senior levels in organisations and support the Engagement Lead to lead and manage the engagement.
- Contribute to developing client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand our work with clients.
- Deliver risk and safety engagements as the workstream lead or technical lead (reporting to the Engagement Lead).
- Facilitate workshops, deliver coaching, provide technical advice to clients, and develop risk and safety systems.
- Manage projects to ensure the effective execution of the project, including project planning, project governance, and risk management.
- Present analyses and recommendations that influence and persuade clients.
- Oversee Consultants and Analysts to ensure the quality of the work and to contribute to their development.
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with clients.
- Identify opportunities for repeat and follow-on work with clients, and develop proposals.
- Contribute to dss+ account teams to prospect for new clients and grow existing clients.
- Live and breathe the dss+ Core Values and Mission Critical Behaviours, and coach others to do the same.
- Lead delivery teams and oversee the quality of delivery. Offer guidance and advice where needed and provide necessary feedback to the team (as an instrumental part of their development).
- Offer guidance and support to the team - especially junior resources - regarding best practices in project management, execution of deliverables, and interactions with clients.
- Lead diagnostics and maturity assessments for risk and safety.
- Co-design implementation programmes and build capability in the client's organisation to sustain the programme.
- Influence and develop frontline to executive leaders, through presentation, facilitation, and coaching (in person and online).
- Stay abreast of current industry trends, pricing, and new technology related to enhancing safety and reducing risks in an operational setting.
- Degree qualified in Science, Engineering, Psychology or other relevant disciplines;
- Ideally you will have 8+ years of industry and consulting experience, with exposure to the Food and Beverage Manufacturing, Utilities, Mining, or Oil & Gas sectors preferred.
- You will have a track record of reducing risk and enhancing safety in an operational context, along with experience in embedding change by enhancing systems, capabilities, and culture to improve performance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex research projects and provide relevant recommendations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and team working attitude, to be able to work in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams.
- High level of proficiency with PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Advanced Excel, Access, and ideally visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly and work on client sites as required.
