Support Worker Role Overview

A Support Worker - Domestic Assistance is a vital role that enables older individuals to maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life. The successful candidate will provide care and companionship for elderly people in their own homes, promoting empowerment and well-being.

The Support Worker's responsibilities will involve:

  • Preparing meals that cater to the clients' dietary needs
  • Providing transportation for wellbeing-related activities, including driving clients to appointments and accompanying them on shopping trips
  • Assisting with social support groups and outings, fostering meaningful connections among participants

Key Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in aged or community care is highly desirable
  • The ideal candidate should be empathetic, resourceful, and flexible to meet the changing needs and schedules of home care clients
  • A provisional or full Australian driving license and ongoing access to a comprehensively insured vehicle are essential requirements
  • A First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one is also necessary
