Job Summary
As a Fleet Allocator, you will be responsible for managing the movement of rail, road, and ship-related fleet to ensure timely delivery of freight and meet customer requirements. This involves scheduling and controlling all activities associated with the arrival, departure, loading, and unloading of fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage fleet movements by scheduling and controlling all activities associated with the arrival, departure, loading, and unloading of rail, road, and ship-related fleet.
- Assist with day-to-day management of transport requests and provide support to ensure all deliveries and pickups are completed in line with the overall operational strategy and contractual agreement.
- Coordinate with drivers and equipment to achieve maximum safety, efficiency, and availability to meet schedule demands and company objectives in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine trip feasibility based on fleet, schedule, maintenance, and drivers' availability and/or operational limitations.
- Develop and maintain excellent customer relations by ensuring drivers and equipment are presented in a professional manner and customers are aware of freight movements and expected delivery times.
Requirements:
- Strong customer service skills, with a detailed understanding of customers and their needs.
- Ability to apply logic and experience to make timely, sound judgements.
- Excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills.
- Capacity to consider a broad range of internal and external factors when solving problems and making decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines within a time-pressured environment.
