Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at IBIS Hotels. As a key member of our maintenance brigade, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's mechanical equipment and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment, including water reticulation and other systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and report any faulty equipment or potential issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the upkeep of accurate records of maintenance activities and repair work.
  • Liaise with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure minimal disruption to hotel operations.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to address guest complaints and resolve issues related to maintenance.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a handyperson or similar role, preferably in a hospitality setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with colleagues and guests.
  • Ability to work across a 6-day roster, including evenings and weekends.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
