The Key Role of Mental Health Support Specialist is a critical position within a leading Anglican Care initiative. This dedicated multidisciplinary team provides ongoing support, treatment, and counselling to young people aged 12-25, aiming to deliver improvements in mental health, social wellbeing, and economic participation.
This full-time permanent role requires providing initial intake and assessment, brief interventions, and developing referral pathways for therapeutic intervention, group work, and community awareness activities.
Responsibilities:- Initial intake and assessment of young people
- Brief interventions and developing referral pathways
- Collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to provide ongoing support and treatment
- Development of therapeutic intervention, group work, and community awareness activities
- Tertiary degree qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or Occupational Therapy
- Demonstrated understanding of mental health issues affecting young people and their families
- Skills in working with young people experiencing mental health issues and their families to assess strengths and needs, develop treatment plans collaboratively, and support young people to engage in services at difficult times in their lives
