Civil Works Technician Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Works Technician to join our team at Hinchinbrook Shire Council.


About the Role

This is a fixed term position until July 2028, requiring a full-time commitment. As a Civil Works Technician, you will be responsible for identifying road defects and implementing effective repair techniques, as well as carrying out civil construction and maintenance tasks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and maintain roads, identifying defects and implementing repairs
  • Carry out civil construction and maintenance tasks as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain and operate plant and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with the public

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:



  • A current MR Drivers Licence or higher
  • A current Tractor and Backhoe Ticket with demonstrable experience in safe operation
  • A current General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Previous experience in civil construction or road maintenance
  • Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks in various weather conditions
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
