Job Overview

This is a key position within a health centre setting, supporting the diverse mental health needs of military members. As a Psychologist, you will make a positive impact by working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves providing comprehensive mental health assessment and delivering a range of evidence-based treatment interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Management of crisis presentations, risk assessment, and risk management planning.
  • Supporting ADF Members with their initial intake and assessment, with flexibility to accommodate presenting need.
  • Case formulation and treatment planning.
  • Programmatic treatment interventions.
  • Care coordination.
  • Group psycho-education.
Essential Qualifications
  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Minimum 2 years post graduate experience in the last 5 years in mental health, undertaking comprehensive mental health assessment and delivering a range of evidence-based treatments.
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
Requirements & Additional Information
  • You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
  • The Defence Force does not require enlistment to work as a civilian on-base, and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
