Infrastructure Maintenance Role

The Cumberland City Council is seeking a qualified and skilled individual to join our Infrastructure team as a Team Member. Located in the Dharug country, we are committed to driving community outcomes, programs, and services to innovate, inspire, and deliver change for the community we represent.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing various maintenance works, including footpath, road, and drainage maintenance. You will work efficiently and effectively to meet both Councils' and communities' expectations through a works program utilizing industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of public domain infrastructure within the Cumberland City Area.
  • Performing tasks related to footpath, road, and drainage maintenance.
  • Working collaboratively with other teams to achieve project goals.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Providing excellent customer service and engaging with the community.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in Civil maintenance operations.
  • Sound knowledge in multiple infrastructure operations functional areas such as road maintenance, footpath maintenance, and drainage system maintenance.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of operating small plants like rollers, plate compactors, grinding machines, and spray units.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required and for emergencies.
  • Strong customer focus with sound customer service skills and ability to embrace change and continual improvement.
  • Class Medium Rigid (MR) Driver's Licence or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Traffic Control Work Training Card (Blue and Yellow Card) or willingness to obtain.
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Experience in Asphalt or Concreting.
