About the Role:

This role is responsible for providing safety leadership, coaching, and expert support to achieve strategic business safety objectives in line with organisational values. The Safety Partner will assist the operation with the adherence to and the application of the Safety Management System.

  • Providing safety support and coaching to operations and maintenance teams to enhance capability
  • Supporting the QLD Operations with the maintenance of the Safety Management System
  • Implementing risk programs and processes, and reviewing outcomes of control effectiveness
  • Monitoring incident reporting and supporting investigations to ensure accurate and timely outcomes are achieved
  • Supporting regulatory reporting, audits, inspections, and implementing the assurance safety program
  • Partnering with leaders to deliver change management activities
  • Facilitating safety management system continuous improvement, communication, and consultation processes
  • Spending time in-field with operational and maintenance teams
  • Developing and supporting health & wellbeing programs
  • Contributing to a high-performance culture through fostering ORAs values

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Safety professionals with greater than 2 years' experience
  • Proven ability to influence and coach leaders and extended teams
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the business
  • Proficient in standard computer products with ability to learn
  • Ability to analyse safety data and trends and provide constructive feedback

Desirable

  • Formal safety qualifications
  • ICAM Training
  • Background in high-risk industry
  • Rail Industry background

The Requirements:

As part of One Rail Australia's recruitment and selection process, shortlisted applicants will be required to:

  • Provide a recent national criminal history check
  • Provide a Current C Class or higher Drivers Licence
  • Undertake a Category 3 Rail Medical
