Remote Primary Healthcare Leader

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead the delivery of primary healthcare in a remote context. The role requires a medical practitioner with significant experience in providing high-level clinical and strategic leadership, management, and clinical governance.
The successful candidate will oversee the improvement of clinical governance, performance, service integration, and teamwork in alignment with the organization's values and strategic direction. This includes maintaining a commitment to 10-20% clinical work per month, contributing to enterprise leadership at the executive level, and developing relevant policies and procedures to mitigate risk.
The role also involves overseeing adverse incident management, collaborating with the Director of Nursing and Midwifery and Clinical Governance Manager, and understanding the research strategy supported by the Research Manager. Additionally, the successful candidate will ensure adequate medical coverage across the region, develop strategies to achieve KPI targets, and lead and support clinical functions in times of emergency or coordinated responses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provision of culturally safe medical and clinical leadership that contributes to improving clinical governance, performance, and service integration.
- Maintaining a commitment to 10-20% clinical work per month (rotated between sites).
- Contributing as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and contributing to enterprise leadership at the executive level.
- Developing relevant policies and processes to mitigate risk.
- Oversight and advisory support for adverse incident management.
- Oversight and understanding of the research strategy.
- Leadership and implementation of the Clinical Governance framework.
- Ensuring adequate medical coverage across the region.
- Developing strategies to achieve KPI targets.
- Leading and supporting clinical functions in times of emergency or coordinated responses.
