About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Metering Technician to join our team at Energy Queensland. As a key member of our office-based team, you will play a critical role in remotely commissioning and maintaining Yurika metering in the National Electricity Market (NEM).

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with installation contractors, inspectors, and network operators to arrange new metering installations.
  • Validate the accuracy and correctness of metering, and provide technical support to customers and service providers.
  • Assist in the planning and deployment of new metering technologies, investigate, and rectify metering system defects.
  • Understand and apply Energy Queensland policies across multiple jurisdictions.

About You
  • Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety requirements and the operation and maintenance of metering installations.
  • Working knowledge of Electricity Act & Regulations, Workplace Health & Safety Act and Regulations, National Electricity Rules, and other relevant statutory acts & regulations.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relationships with team members and external customers.
  • Willingness to travel across broader Queensland to assist with work.
  • Current 'C' class open Drivers Licence.
