Swimming Instructor Position

This is a unique opportunity to become part of our team as a swimming instructor, teaching this essential life skill to individuals of all ages. Waterworld features three heated pools—a 50m lap pool, a 20m Learner pool, and a Toddler pool—alongside expansive grassed areas, water slides, and a splash park.

The Learn to Swim program runs every day of the week, catering to children as young as 6 months old up to adults. We are seeking both experienced instructors and enthusiastic newcomers for multiple positions throughout the pool season.

This role offers a competitive wage and the fulfillment of helping others develop swimming skills and confidence in the water.

Responsibilities
  • Teach students various swimming techniques, strokes, and water safety practices.
  • Improve the swimming skills of advanced swimmers through tailored instruction.
  • Assess each swimmer's performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Guide students' progress and adapt teaching programs to promote improvement.
  • Embrace new concepts and align with established lesson plans and teaching methods.
  • Supervise students to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Availability on afternoons and weekends is essential.
  • Working two shifts minimum per week is required.

As a Swimming Instructor, you'll have the chance to make a meaningful impact by teaching this vital skill to people from diverse age groups.

Requirements
  • Industry-recognized qualifications such as AUSTSWIM, ASCTA, or equivalent.
  • Provision of CPR certification.
  • Working with children check.
  • Child Safe Environments Certificate.

Absorbable learning opportunities are available for those interested in higher remuneration possibilities if you hold relevant certifications like Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion or Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics.
