Payroll Accounting Specialist

The primary role involves the preparation of monthly financial reports, encompassing analysis and commentary on variances, balance sheet reconciliations, cash forecasting, assistance with budget planning, and report preparation for funding providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including analysis and commentary on discrepancies, balance sheet reconciliations, cash forecasting, and budget planning support.
  • Executing payroll accounting functions for a complex organization, including processing payrolls, managing employee data, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Transaction execution such as bookkeeping, reconciliations, and settlements, general ledger control and verification, ad hoc issue resolution, and quality check and quality analysis programs.
  • Payroll-related reconciliations, such as annual leave liability, superannuation, paid parental leaves, and long service leaves, and investigating discrepancies between financial records and external sources.
  • Effective management of internal and external stakeholder queries or tickets in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with multiple stakeholders to resolve pending items.

Ideal candidates should possess good knowledge of financial statement preparation, Australian Accounting Standards (AAS), and sound understanding of Procure to Pay, Order to Cash & Record to Report processes, Invoice processing (AP&AR), Cash Apps, Payment processing, Vendor Master Data Management, month-end activities, and ability to accurately reconcile general ledger and payroll related accounts.
