Coffey Testing is currently seeking a motivated individual to fill a Construction Materials Testing Technician position. This role will play a vital part in ensuring the quality and safety of construction materials used in major projects.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in laboratory and field testing, with strong skills in quality assurance and safety procedures. They must be physically fit and able to perform manual labour-intensive tasks, including heavy lifting.
- Minimum 2 year s experience in Construction Materials Testing industry
- Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to quality assurance and workplace safety
- Is physically fit and able to perform a manual labour-intensive role which includes heavy lifting
- Can work effectively under pressure, prioritising work to meet client demands
- Has sound experience in field and laboratory construction materials testing to Australia standards or is looking to start a career in construction materials testing
- Has the ability to work autonomously and displays a level of self-motivation
- Performs an undertaking of a variety of manual tasks in the field and in the laboratory, including preparing and testing soil, aggregates & concrete samples
- Completing the following tests - Triaxials, permeabilities, aggregates, rock testing and materials
- Liaising with Coffey Testing's client onsite on testing schedules, procedures and results, representing the Coffey Testing brand
- Can perform routine quality assurance checks and calibrations, ensuring all equipment is maintained
- Ensures accuracy of test results and timely output of work
- Has demonstrated experience in laboratory and field testing in soils, aggregates and/or concrete to relevant standards (AS1289, AS1141, AS1012)
- Is NATA approved Signatory (highly advantageous)
- Ideally holds a current NDM Radiation license (highly advantageous), and/or
- Holds a current manual driver's licence (essential)
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work well within a team environment. They will also have the opportunity to participate in training and development programs to enhance their skills and knowledge.
