Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Officer to join our team at Deakin University. As a Technical Officer, you will provide technical support to our academic teaching programs in Occupational Therapy, Child Play Therapy, and Speech Pathology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise for the setup and maintenance of simulation and laboratory classes and assessments.
  • Coordinate the preparation and management of materials and equipment for practical classes.
  • Ensure the safe use and disposal of chemicals, biologicals, and equipment.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of teaching facilities and monitor occupational health and safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Completion of a degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a tertiary education environment.
  • Good knowledge of OH&S principles and an understanding of safety requirements when working with biological and chemical hazards.
