Infrastructure Portfolio Director Job Description

The Infrastructure Portfolio Director is a strategic leadership role that oversees business services, information management, and infrastructure portfolio management functions. This senior position requires strong leadership skills to drive governance, auditing, and reporting processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and accountability.

About the Role:
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across business services, procurement, finance, HR, governance, and information management to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Oversee construction scheduling, asset management, and budget management for a large and complex infrastructure portfolio, ensuring effective resource allocation and optimized outcomes.
  • Develop high-quality reports, briefing notes, and business cases to inform senior executives and stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Embed project management principles into high-volume, high-value programs, fostering continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across government and external partners to ensure alignment and delivery success.
  • Drive change initiatives, including implementing new information management systems and reporting tools, to enhance organizational capabilities.
Requirements:
  • Possess significant experience leading multi-disciplinary business and corporate services teams, ideally within construction or project delivery environments.
  • Hold strong knowledge of infrastructure, asset management, financial planning, procurement, and lifecycle maintenance programs.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication, consultation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to represent the organization at senior levels.
  • Show proven ability to manage information systems, governance frameworks, and organizational reporting requirements.
  • Exhibit high-level organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities under pressure.
