Job Title: Quantum Materials Researcher - CSIRO Postdoctoral Fellowship

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at Business In Heels International Pty. The successful candidate will work on a vital project developing new quantum technologies in collaboration with CSIRO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extend and optimize CSIRO's 2D material transfer and stacking processes to produce quantum emitters.
  • Fabricate electrically triggered quantum emitters in 2D materials in a cleanroom environment.
  • Develop nanofabrication processes to deterministically engineer optically active sites in 2D materials.
  • Characterize optical emission from 2D materials and their stacks to validate single photon emission.
  • Work closely with other scientists and engineers in the development of quantum communications projects and infrastructure at CSIRO.

Requirements:

  • A doctorate (or will shortly satisfy the requirements of a Ph.D.) in a relevant discipline area, such as Physics, Quantum Engineering, or Nanotechnology.
  • No more than 3 years (full-time equivalent) of postdoctoral research experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to optically characterize Single Photon Emitters.
  • Experience in nanofabrication techniques, such as thermal evaporation, photo/thermal lithography, plasma etching, and spin coating.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary, regionally dispersed, and multi-institution research team.
  • High-level written and oral communication skills with the ability to represent the research team effectively internally and externally, including the presentation of research outcomes at national and international conferences.
