Senior Electrical Engineer Required

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Wollongong-based team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading electrical engineering teams and contributing to the delivery of Capital Projects.

The scope includes working on electrical work packages across various Capital Projects as determined by the approved plant Capital Budget.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical engineering teams and contribute to project planning, coordination, and execution
  • Define the system's global architecture and prepare project feasibility assessments from an electrical and automation standpoint
  • Design electrical and automated control systems, including Human Machine Interface (HMI) development
  • Ensure full compliance of work undertaken according to relevant IEEE Standards
  • Select the appropriate technology for projects and ensure they are fully compatible
  • Design drawings for the construction of physical components of electrical and automation systems, including:
  • Single Line Diagrams, Motor Control Schematics/specifications, Control panel layout & design
  • Electrical power distribution systems design and specification
  • I/O wiring
  • Loop drawings
  • Network system design
  • Prepare technical reports and client correspondences/presentations to project stakeholders
  • Review and prepare detailed specifications and contract documents for procurement of major electrical and controls equipment, as well as construction document packages
  • Actively involved and responsible for installation and commissioning of electrical work packages for specific capital projects

Requirements:

  • Electrical engineering background with an associated degree in engineering
  • Electrical or Automation engineering background, preferably with Instrumentation and PLC systems background
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant industrial experience, with knowledge of safety systems, safe system of work documentation, contractor supervision, equipment commissioning, project close-out, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading electrical engineering teams and managing complex projects
  • Experience in reading, designing, or troubleshooting P&ID and electrical diagrams
  • Knowledge of various industrial communication protocols
