Geospatial Data Analyst

The Australian Carbon Credit Unit Scheme is a unique opportunity for individuals to contribute to the administration of projects that avoid greenhouse gas emissions or remove and sequester carbon from the atmosphere.

The Vegetation and Analytics Branch supports the administration of projects through the restoration, regeneration, and protection of native forest and plantation forestry. The branch delivers geospatial services and provides analysis and reporting in support of the whole ACCU Scheme.

The branch's objectives are:

  • Efficient and effective administration of mandatory obligation components of agency schemes.
  • Build and maintain our reputation as a highly capable, engaged, and professional workforce with a dynamic approach to solving problems and responding to new opportunities.
  • Become the 'branch of choice' where people want to work by creating a working environment that fosters personal responsibility, leadership, and personal and career development.
  • Raise branch profile and confidence in its work and influence desired outcomes through targeted and timely engagement with key stakeholders across the agency.

The Geospatial Analytics and Reporting section is responsible for delivering and enhancing capabilities that improve engagement, participation, and administration of the ACCU Scheme.

This role involves data verification tasks, regular and ad hoc data analysis activities, and research to inform internal and external clients. The successful candidate will have accountability for completion of allocated tasks, organizing workflow, and review of work.

Required skills and qualifications include analytical skills, experience with Microsoft Office suite, and knowledge of R and CRM systems.
