About the RoleThe Legal Policy Advisor position will suit a legally qualified professional who is proactive, responsive, and adaptable to change. You will play a key role in achieving Equality Australia's vision by assisting with our response to key legal and policy priority issues impacting LGBTIQ+ populations.
Your responsibilities will include conducting legal and policy analysis, drafting submissions, briefing notes, research reports, and other publications. You will also assist with political engagement, including developing political strategies, preparing briefings and materials, and meeting with decision makers.
You will work collaboratively with other team members on seminars and events, publications, and marketing, as well as undertake some administrative tasks in a small team.
We are looking for a candidate with approximately 2-4 years' post-qualification experience and strong legal and policy analysis and research skills. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will support your success in this critical role, together with your respectful and collaborative interpersonal skills.
Experience in legal and/or campaign advocacy, whether through litigation or engagement with political and government processes, would be an advantage.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, and a dynamic work environment that values diversity and inclusion. If you need assistance or adjustments to fully participate in the application process, please let us know.
