About the Role

BHP is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Site Systems to join our team at Broadmeadow, a longwall underground coal operation in Queensland's Bowen Basin.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and governing the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS), material risk compliance, mine records, management structure, and associated information systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and leading initiatives to bridge gaps in the SHMS and facilitate change to support continuous improvement.
  • Providing technical support, coaching, and governance of the SHMS, risk management, legislative, and compliance framework.
  • Developing strong working relationships with site leaders to ensure in-field adherence to new and existing safety systems.
  • Leading and participating in internal and external audits.
  • Document management and record keeping.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a relevant qualification in Safety, Risk, Law, or a related discipline. Experience with Safety and Health Management Systems, SAP, and Flex would be advantageous.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving, decision-making, and influencing skills are essential. Ability to collaborate and build positive working relationships in a fast-paced environment is also required.
