The Boeing MQ28 Program:


The Boeing MQ28 is a pivotal Defence program that will provide a strategic advantage to support operational capabilities.


This program is developed in partnership with the Royal Australian Air Force, marking the first military combat aircraft to be designed, manufactured, and assembled in Australia in 50 years.


We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics to support this exciting opportunity at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland.


This position may also support other significant programs at Amberley, including:


C-17A Globemaster F/A-18F Super Hornet EA-18G Growler E-7A


Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:


The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is accountable for the maintenance, modification, servicing, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, associated components, and equipment within their trade, qualifications, training, competency, and Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) authorizations.


The AME completes assigned tasks by performing a range of AMO aircraft maintenance activities, sign-off, and certification in accordance with Authorized Maintenance Data (AMD).


These maintenance activities require the application of trade qualifications and experience in the relevant trade category, and may necessitate the application of post-trade qualifications and experience.


AMEs conducting certification must interpret Instruction for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA) airworthiness limitations from within AMD and apply them to the assessment of defects and imperfections.


Experience/Qualifications:


We are seeking a candidate who meets the following criteria:


Essential Criteria:


Minimum 12 months experience as a fully qualified maintainer


Certificate IV in Aeroskills Avionics qualification


Ability to obtain and maintain a Dept of Defence security clearance, at the required level for the role


Ability to obtain and maintain the security requirements for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITARS) clearance


Ensuring compliance to 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE)


Ability to read, interpret, speak and write fluently in English


Demonstrated computer (and related technology) literacy


Demonstrate competence to seek and hold delegated authorities under the DASR 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework


Demonstrated knowledge of aviation:


quality assurance procedures;


maintenance/modification procedures;


and AMD and ICA documentation


Desirable Criteria:


Previous experience in a Defence Military Aerospace environment


Valid DASR Category B2 MAML


Prior supervisory or leadership development training and/or experience


Eligibility:


Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
