Emergency Responder Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to take on a role that requires responding to mine site emergencies with urgency and professionalism, maintaining operational emergency response equipment, and providing high-standard pre-hospital emergency care.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond to mine site emergencies with expertise and poise.
- Maintain emergency response equipment in top working condition.
- Perform regular drug and alcohol testing according to strict protocols.
- Support the health and safety team in executing key projects.
- Provide comprehensive emergency care, adhering to BHP clinical standards and accurately documenting incidents.
- Develop and deliver training sessions for ERT members and other staff on emergency management and clinical skills.
- Commit to ongoing development of emergency management and clinical skills and qualifications to maintain competencies and Scope of Clinical Practice.
- Deliver educational programs, training, and assessments to ensure Learning Management System compliance and administration efficiency, Clinical Governance requirements, audits, compliance checks, investigations, and mentoring colleagues.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A current registration as a Paramedic or RN with no conditions or restrictions impacting SOCP attainment and practice.
- Meet the requirements to achieve and maintain approved SOCP at Paramedic or RN level within WAIO operations.
- A Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue, or Public Safety, or equivalent/higher qualification.
- Rescue experience in firefighting, ambulance services, defence forces, or other emergency services.
- Comprehensive technical understanding of risk management and/or operational mining experience.
- Excellent communication skills and interaction experience with personnel, patients, or customer service.
- The ability to make effective decisions in rapidly unfolding situations.
