Western Australian Veterinary Emergency and Specialty (WAVES) provides 24/7 emergency and specialty veterinary services, aiming to offer care, dignity, and compassion for every pet and family. Our team includes veterinarians and nurses who work closely with general practitioners to provide seamless, thoughtful care across our specialty services: Surgery, Internal Medicine, Emergency and Critical Care, and Dentistry.

Role overview

This full-time, on-site position in Success, Western Australia is ideal for someone who thrives in moments that truly matter. As a Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care, you will be a lifeline for pets in urgent need, bringing calm, clarity, and clinical excellence to every case.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnosing and treating critically ill and emergency patients with compassion and precision
  • Performing life-saving procedures and guiding care with confidence
  • Supporting and mentoring veterinary staff with patience and encouragement
  • Collaborating with other specialists and referring veterinarians to provide holistic, contextual care
Qualifications
  • A DVM or equivalent, with specialized training in emergency and critical care
  • Board certification (ACVECC, ECVECC, FAVCVS)
  • Advanced expertise in emergency and critical care medicine
  • Clear and empathetic communication with colleagues and clients
  • Confidence in performing emergency procedures and managing complex cases
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth
