Executive Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at RAAF Pearce defence base in Bullsbrook. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing the overall back of house operations and personnel involved in the production and delivery of food service, including routine meals, in-flight rations, fresh field rations, and Mess functions.
This is a full-time permanent role working on a 9-day fortnight (9 working days, 5 days off). Your previous hospitality experience, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn will hold you in good stead. This is a hands-on role where you will be required to work in the kitchen as well as undertaking administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of chefs and a kitchen hand
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment
- Manage corporate functions
- Cost/budget management
- Internal and external stakeholder management
- Be flexible and help the whole team
Requirements:
- Commercial Cookery Certificate III, or above (or equivalent)
- Experience in a large commercial kitchen
- Ability to work well both within a team and on own initiative
- Ability to adapt to changing demands to meet needs, especially at busy times
- Able to think on feet and act quickly upon instruction
- Great attitude towards work and a willingness to learn the role and environment quickly
