Business Finance Manager Job

This is a key position within a renowned organisation, requiring an experienced finance professional to lead financial and corporate accounting activities on a national scale.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and communicating the company's financial and lease accounting processes, as well as owning various aspects of their business operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Own the lease accounting process for the business, adhering to AASB16 standards.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and year-end tasks, including preparation of management reporting and analysis.
  • Oversee tax compliance, including income tax returns, FBT, GST and BAS in consultation with external advisors.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements.
  • Support business unit leaders with strategies to follow up outstanding debtors.
  • Provide guidance on financial processes, procedures and maintain internal controls; focus on supporting operations functions including warehouses, logistics and inventory management activities.
  • Provide analysis, insights and recommendations to senior finance executives on actual operating performance, including variances and overheads spend to budget.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to ensure compliance and robust internal control.
  • Lead ad-hoc projects as directed by senior finance executives.

Requirements:

  • Possess a CA or CPA qualification and relevant experience in a large-scale, dynamic FMCG/Retail organisation.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong attention to detail, proven lease accounting (AASB16/IFRS16) experience & knowledge.
  • Prior training in a Big 4 chartered environment is advantageous.
