Job Description

Amazon seeks highly skilled individuals to fill the role of Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) Technician.

The primary focus is on ensuring adherence to safety regulations and policies, conducting preventative maintenance on time, and providing high levels of equipment availability through continuous improvement.

This is a full-time hourly position based on day/night shift patterns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on site equipment.
  • Prioritize health and safety best practices in all work activities.
  • Rapidly respond to breakdowns, communicate effectively with affected teams, and work efficiently to resolve issues.
  • Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and submitting feedback and suggestions for improvements through line management.
  • Provide high levels of equipment availability to internal customers.
  • Collaborate with and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.
About the Role

RME Technicians are based on-site, enabling them to promptly respond to machinery issues. They perform a range of planned preventative maintenance tasks to ensure site equipment operates safely. Additionally, RME Technicians rapidly respond to breakdowns, investigating, identifying, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. They also submit suggestions for long-term improvements, working alongside senior colleagues to undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks and general building maintenance.

About the Team

The Reliability Maintenance Engineering team at Amazon ensures our equipment performs optimally. We are a technically adept team comprised of excellent team players guided by experienced leaders. Our collaborative approach enables us to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade license and mechanical knowledge or Certificate III in Engineering/Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner)
  • Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems
  • Experience in fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical drawings
  • Experience in conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters
  • Experience in working to appropriate health and safety standards and regulations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in computer maintenance systems (CMMS)
  • Experience in sortation machines
  • Experience in an industrial environment
  • Experience in maintaining/configuring bar code scanners
  • Experience in print and apply machines
