Maintenance Officer: Property Care at Meriton Suites

Meriton Suites is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Officer to support one of our beautiful Sydney properties.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work to ensure our property is safe, well maintained and well presented. They will work as part of a high-performing maintenance team, contributing to a positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fitting, testing, repairing and replacing fixtures and fittings, including lightbulbs, windows, doors, and handrails.
  • Performing basic plumbing maintenance and repairs on taps, basins and toilets.
  • Performing basic carpentry, including hanging and replacing doors and operating power tools.
  • Performing minor welds to fabricate or repair fixtures.
  • Checking safety equipment such as fire hoses, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and alarms.
  • Reporting requirements for significant repairs to management.
  • Clearing gutters and common areas of rubbish and debris.
  • Applying and repairing paint and plaster.
  • Changing locks on doors and windows.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with maintenance officer/handyman duties or hold an applicable trade.
  • Exposure in a hotel environment is highly desirable.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Full availability to work a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays (shift time between 7 am and 11 pm).
  • Professional approach in dealing with guests and other staff members whilst carrying out daily tasks.
  • Must pass a Work Health Physical Assessment/Drug and Alcohol test prior to employment.
