The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a piggery, ensuring the health and well-being of pigs and maintaining high-quality standards.
About the Role- Supervise site facilities in terms of human resources, physical resources, safety requirements, consumables, documentation, and measurement devices to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Implement quality control measures to prevent product loss and contamination.
- Safeguard stock inventory by conducting regular checks on feeding, watering, and environmental conditions.
- Oversee trial sheds, data collection, and recording processes.
- Select breeding stock and/or pigs for sale, prioritizing quality and productivity.
- Daily inspection of livestock to ensure proper care and adherence to model codes of practice.
- AQF Certificate III (or higher/equivalent) qualification in Agriculture (Pig Production) or relevant experience in a similar role.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a commercial piggery setting with strong communication and time management skills.
- Proficiency in animal husbandry, welfare, and pig production knowledge.
- Familiarity with computer systems is advantageous.
