We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Math and Science Essential Teacher to join our team at Y Schools Queensland Senior Ipswich Campus. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering academic and wellbeing programs to students, supporting the delivery of vocational training programs, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve educational, wellbeing, and vocational objectives.

About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position, and you will be based in Ipswich, QLD. As a Math and Science Essential Teacher, you will create a nurturing and supportive learning environment that is learner-focused, safe, and supportive. You will assess and provide meaningful and supportive feedback and report on student learning, and support our young people with a range of learning needs, including disabilities, behavioural disturbances, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, low levels of literacy/numeracy, and mental illness.

Requirements

  • A relevant University degree and current Queensland College of Teachers Registration.
  • Math's/Science Essential Subjects (year 11 and 12) experience.
  • Ability to apply appropriate knowledge to plan and prepare teaching and learning programs to meet the diverse characteristics, needs, and learning styles of students who are at risk of disengaging from education.
  • Knowledge to implement effective and inclusive teaching and learning processes, including the use of learning technology and assessment, to establish an appropriate learning environment in which students are encouraged to work toward their potential.
  • Effective communication skills, including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills and the ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment.
