Are you interested in working for a deliberately different education system, with a focus on industry?
Then this is the role for you
The Industry School, formerly the AITC, is unlike any other senior school. We’re for young people who seek a deliberately different educational experience. An industry-driven one. For those who want to learn in the classroom, within workplaces, and on the job. We’re for those young people who seek to start building real-world strengths and skills now, not only in the future.
We provide a unique two-to-three-year program for young people in Years 10 to 12 designed to progressively develop employability skills and achieve individualised learning goals, whilst also meeting the requirements of the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
We aim to seamlessly blend senior education and vocational training to engage young people in purposeful learning experiences with real world industry relevance.
We are now seeking a Teacher (internally known as Team Leader) to join our Ipswich School and be part of our next exciting chapter as we continue to evolve and elevate to meet the needs of our young people and Industry Partners.
This permanent full-time role will focus on delivering Essential English to our Year 11 and 12 young people.
Start Date - Term 1 2025.
Responsibilities will include:
- Delivering curriculum programs to achieve expected outcomes for young people, ensuring all assessment and compliance tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Perform in accordance with the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Contributing in a collaborative way to the planning, design, development, delivery, and evaluation of quality teaching and learning programs.
- Enhancing the well-being and holistic growth of young people through the development of supportive learning environments, quality communication, and effective classroom management
- Creating positive and proactive relationships with young people, parents, and staff that leads to a supportive and positive College community
Our values play a critical role in cultivating culture. They set the standards for how we behave, interact with others, make decisions, and choose to act. They are:
- Think progressively
- Take courageous action
- Achieve inspiring outcomes
- Demonstrate genuine care
- Contribute authentically
- Succeed collectively
Skills and experience
You are a skilled educator who has the ability to develop and mentor young people to succeed in an industry-driven environment.
You will:
- Enjoy working with goal-oriented young people in late adolescence
- Work well in collaborative planning and teaching teams
- Be a life-long professional learner open to new ways of doing things
- Embrace information technology as a powerful and positive tool for life
- Have a future driven vision for what education could be like
- Be committed to behaviours that promote highly effective value-based teams
Required qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Current QCT Registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration.
- A current driver's licence.
- Right to Work in Australia.
We value and recognise our people through a range of benefits including superannuation matching after a qualifying period, salary packaging, access to corporate rate health insurance, staff discounts through PerkBox, Employee Assistance Programs, and Professional Development to name a few.
