Job Title: Assistant Principal-Range 1

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator to contribute to the continued success of students and staff at Preston West Primary School.

The successful candidate will support the Principal in leading the school community and driving academic excellence, with a focus on promoting student wellbeing and safety.

Candidates should have a relevant tertiary qualification in Education or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years experience as a teacher, preferably in a leadership role. A proven track record of improving student outcomes and enhancing teacher practice is essential.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community. Collaborative team players are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Principal in leading the school community and driving academic excellence;
  • Develop and implement effective policies and procedures to promote student wellbeing and safety;
  • Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver high-quality curriculum programs;
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to support students at risk;
  • Provide guidance and coaching to teachers to enhance their instructional practice;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives to improve teaching and learning;
  • Participate in professional learning opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in education.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Education or a related field;
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a teacher, preferably in a leadership role;
