Disability Support Professional

This role involves providing high-quality care and support to valued clients in their homes, helping them to maintain their independence and achieve their desired outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care and support to service users with diverse needs, including complex behaviours.
  • Assist and encourage skill development and abilities in areas of life, helping participants achieve their goals and desired outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals to identify their needs, goals, and aspirations, developing individualised plans.
  • Provide information, support, and advocacy to access services and programs, such as housing, employment, education, and healthcare.
  • Coordinate and monitor services, identifying and resolving issues to meet individual needs.
  • Build relationships with community partners and stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and resource sharing.
  • Organise training and education sessions on disability issues and inclusive practices.
  • Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness and engage individuals and families.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions and program activities.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher in a relevant field (AQF Skill Level 2)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with individuals with disabilities, providing support and resources.
  • Strong understanding of disability issues, including accessibility and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with disability services and programs.
  • Basic computer skills and database management experience.

Essential Requirements:

  • Driver's License
  • Full comprehensive car insurance
  • Experience within the Disability Services Industry
  • Immunisation as required for your role

Remuneration:

$70,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Superannuation contributions in accordance with Australian law. Opportunities for career advancement and professional development, supportive and collaborative work environment.

This role requires a driver's license, full comprehensive car insurance, and experience within the Disability Services Industry.
