Job Overview

The Data Analyst is accountable for undertaking complex activities within a collaborative workforce. They will work within a framework of legislation, established principles and procedures in accordance with Defence's mission and objectives.

A Data Analyst utilises their initiative and experience to research, analyse, plan, review and adjust priorities and work activities to assist in the delivery of complex functions across Defence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Consolidating and analysing data and information, and contributing to the preparation of written submissions, briefs and reports for Defence and external stakeholders.
  • Undertaking statistical analyses and contributing to the preparation of technical reports and data dashboards.
  • Prioritising and progressing work to meet business objectives, recommending solutions for issues impacting on desired outcomes and seeking advice on more complex issues.
  • Maintaining accurate completion of work within tight deadlines to support the delivery of procedural, operational, administrative and business support activities across Defence.

Requirements

The successful applicant must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Clearance. They will also require advanced skills in Microsoft Office - specifically Excel and Word, as well as experience with Power BI and exceptional levels of attention to detail.
