Recovery Support Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced and trauma-informed practitioner to join our team as a Recovery Support Practitioner. As a key member of our service, you will provide practical support to clients impacted by domestic family and sexual violence, assisting them in achieving their individual goals outlined in their case plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with external stakeholders, including government and community services, focusing on primary health, recovery, and support for individuals impacted by domestic, family, and sexual violence.
  • Implement and regularly review client-centred case plans in partnership with individuals affected by domestic family and sexual violence, ensuring a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approach.
  • Facilitate client engagement across the service lifecycle, including intake, ongoing case management, and exit planning.
  • Empower clients to actively participate in and take ownership of their case planning and recovery journey.
  • Provide day-to-day support and coordination of services that align with each individual's goals, needs, and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure cohesive, holistic support for clients.
  • Contribute to service development through input into policies, procedures, and program evaluations.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and confidential client recordkeeping, aligned with legal, ethical, and organisational standards.
  • Participate in regular professional development, reflective practice, and internal supervision to maintain service quality and personal growth.
  • Actively contribute to advocacy and awareness efforts related to domestic family and sexual violence, mental health, and trauma recovery, while promoting cultural safety and inclusion across the workplace.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Community Work, Social Work, Welfare, Counselling, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with families impacted by domestic family and sexual violence, using a flexible, trauma-informed, and client-centred approach.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary family, domestic, and sexual violence issues, with a commitment to gender equality and women's rights.
  • Experience working with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, LGBTQIA+, migrant, culturally and linguistically diverse, neurodivergent, and people with disabilities.
  • Current Working with Children's Check.
  • Willingness to undertake a National Police Check.
