Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to oversee and lead our nursing team. This role involves managing daily operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of our healthcare unit.

About the Role:

We have multiple contracts available across various healthcare settings in QLD, ranging from 4-12 weeks with potential for extension. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership and Management: Supervise and coordinate nursing staff activities and patient care within the unit.
  • Patient Care and Safety: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Manage staffing levels, schedules, and patient assignments.
  • Quality Improvement: Monitor and evaluate patient care and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance, support, and training to nursing staff.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve patient and staff concerns in a timely manner.
  • Business Acumen: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to achieving unit goals.
Key Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in Primary Health Care Nursing.
  • Certifications and Registrations: Advanced Life Support certification required. AHPRA Registration (must be current) and Australian National Police Check.
  • Desirable Skills: Experience in Emergency and Rural Nursing is highly desirable. Registration with RIPERN is advantageous but not essential.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to work effectively under pressure and in diverse environments.
