About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Health and Safety Strategic Advisor to lead and manage the overall safety performance of our Automated Distribution Centre (ADC). The successful candidate will act as the site's Subject Matter Expert, providing critical information to enable the ADC to achieve strategic Health, Safety and Wellbeing objectives, performance targets, and compliance.

Foster a work environment that promotes operational excellence, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and high levels of safe working practices. You will represent the business to state regulators and industry bodies where necessary, while maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and service providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement safety strategies in partnership with State Managers and key stakeholders to ensure the effective management of risks.
  • Provide direction, advice, and practical support to store area management teams on safety, workers' compensation, injury management, and wellbeing related matters.
  • Ensure legislative requirements and good practice are achieved within stores through proactive auditing and monitoring.
  • Support HSE management systems and initiatives to drive positive change across the organisation.
  • Evaluate emerging risk exposures, develop and monitor risk registers, and implement mitigation measures to prevent adverse events.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and incident investigations at a regional level to identify areas for improvement.
About You

You will possess extensive experience working in a Senior Safety leadership role, preferably in an operational FMCG distribution centre, manufacturing, or automated environment. A strong background in Risk/Hazard management, Ergonomics, or related fields is desirable.

A proven track record of successfully implementing strategic plans, driving change within teams, and providing technical expertise and coaching to various operational levels is essential. You must have a degree in a relevant field, such as Safety or Legal Related Discipline. Strong communication skills, influencing abilities, and knowledge of relevant H&S Legislation are also required.
