Principal Communications Engineer

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading Australian multinational mining and metals company as a Principal Communications Engineer. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing prospective changes to asset strategies and monitoring their integrity and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and optimize asset strategies in collaboration with Maintenance teams, Engineering, and other Functions.
- Lead and deliver improvement initiatives to support the business plan.
- Monitor and improve key system metrics (MTBF and MTTR) and conduct root cause analysis of failures.
- Promote a continuous improvement culture by identifying causes of loss and eliminating waste.
- Facilitate root cause analysis of chronic equipment failure.
- Assess newly installed equipment to ensure maintainability.
- Manage stakeholder relationships with OEM support and operational teams.
- Provide governance and standardization of mining systems technology.
- Provide input into the design, installation, commissioning, and validation of mining systems.
- Guide project teams as the Service Owner/SME for Wi-Fi and RF-related matters.
- Networking Qualifications (e.g., CCNP, CWNP).
- Strong working experience with Networking equipment in the Mining Industry (Switching Routing, Access Points, Access Point Management).
- In-depth understanding of RF (desirable).
- Experience facilitating RCA (Root Cause Analysis) workshops.
- Understanding of risk assessment and change management.
- Ability to collaborate, influence, and work with site-based operational teams.
- 6 Month Contract With Extension.
- Flexible Working Arrangements With FIFO, 5/2 or 4/3 etc.
- Competitive Day Rates.
- Work With A Global Organisation And Industry Leading Technology.
