Carriera, a leading provider of housing consultancy services, is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Principal Designer to join their team in London. As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for assisting the Principal Designer in ensuring compliance with the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015.
Key Responsibilities:- Design Risk Management: Identify and manage design-related risks to ensure the safety of clients, contractors, and end-users.
- Pre-Construction Information: Obtain and collate the Pre-Construction Information Pack to facilitate effective project planning and execution.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with contractors, designers, and clients through Design Team Meetings and Risk Workshops to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Design Compliance: Review and monitor designers' compliance with CDM Regulations to ensure high-quality design outputs.
- Project Planning: Plan, coordinate, and manage the pre-construction phase of projects to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
- Health and Safety: Provide information to contractors to manage health and safety throughout the construction phase, including undertaking interim Health & Safety inspections and reviewing site records.
- Health and Safety File: Update/review and deliver the Health & Safety File to the Client.
- CDM Regulations: A general knowledge of CDM Regulations and their application in the construction industry.
- Health and Safety: Understanding of implementing Health & Safety procedures and guidelines, with a general understanding of Health & Safety within the construction industry.
- Professional Qualifications: Working towards TechIOSH / APS Membership and a professional qualification in designing, building surveying, or building services discipline.
- Continual Professional Development: Continual professional development (CPD) would be encouraged.
- Preferred Qualifications: NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety is preferred.
