This is an exceptional opportunity for middle school teachers and experienced senior years teachers to get involved early and help shape the VCE studies at our new school.
About Our New School
Our new secondary college opened its doors in 2024, providing students with a unique learning experience. The school will add a new year level each year until 2029, offering students from Year 7-12 the chance to excel academically and personally.
Our mission is to provide the best education possible by delivering high-impact, evidence-based practices in learning and wellbeing. We aim to create an aspirational and inclusive school community that supports each student on their learning journey.
Our school community is diverse, with 440 students across Year 7 & 8. Four percent of our students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, and 32 percent of students have English as an additional language.
Our State-of-the-Art Facilities
The school boasts state-of-the-art educational facilities, including a Science and Technology building with dedicated labs, materials, and digital technology. We also have extensive outdoor basketball courts and manicured landscaping, perfect for multipurpose outdoor learning experiences.
Selection Criteria
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and experience in responding to student learning needs. They will also have experience in planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
Additionally, the candidate will have experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform teaching practice and providing feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.
Finally, they will have demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and behaviours consistent with Department values.
Role and Responsibilities
The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges: range 1 and range 2. The primary focus of the classroom teacher is on the planning, preparation, and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
