The NSW Nurses and Midwives Association is a leading healthcare organization seeking an experienced Senior Employee Relations Project Manager to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to partner with stakeholders on employee relations matters, provide expert advice and support, and drive the implementation of contemporary people and culture practices and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure seamless employee experience, providing timely and accurate advice and supporting various people processes.
  • Provide technical and operational employee relations advice to ensure compliance with legislative and policy requirements across areas such as staff professional development, issue resolution, work health and safety, workers compensation, and employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Review and monitor changes in industrial relations legislation, providing proactive information and advice on applications and impacts on organizational activities, initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate and oversee project planning, development, and implementation for allocated projects, working with key stakeholders to scope and plan projects, coordinating tasks, monitoring performance indicators, producing project documentation, reports, and presentations, and implementing change management strategies.
  • Collaborate with project teams to deliver transformational people and culture projects, increasing efficiency of people practices and enhancing employee wellbeing.
  • BUILD COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH STAFF GROUPS TO ENSURE COOPERATION AND COMMITMENT IN ADDRESSING EMPLOYEE RELATIONS MATTERS AND OPERATIONAL IMPLEMENTATION OF STRATEGIC PEOPLE AND CULTURE PROGRAMS.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Considerable experience in people partnering roles and/or people and culture project specialist roles, preferably in a union or public sector context.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, including matters with critical turnaround times.
  • Experience adopting evidence-based and data-informed approaches to all activities.
  • Ability to autonomously make decisions and provide comprehensive advice on courses of action to address employee relations matters.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field or equivalent experience in an HR environment.
  • Work Health and Safety certification, such as Certificate IV in WHS, is desirable.

Salary and Benefits

$152,010 - $170,694 per annum (commensurate with experience) + Superannuation + 5 weeks annual leave + 12 RDOs + Christmas shutdown.
