This is a key role within our Defence Compressed Air Systems Service Team, located at Garden Island. You will be working with a team of experienced technicians who will provide the necessary training to become an industry specialist.

About this role:

  • Mechanical or electrical trade qualification is essential for this position.
  • Experience in diesel engines, hydraulics or pneumatics is required.
  • You should have strong maintenance, service and repair skills for heavy duty diesel engines.
  • Practical working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, related tools and equipment is necessary.
  • Sound technical knowledge with experience in diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics - reciprocating and screw type air compressors, or breathing air equipment is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Defence Security Clearance (Australian Citizen only) is a must.
  • Independence and ability to follow instructions are crucial.
  • Commitment to safe work practices is expected.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills are necessary.
