The State of Queensland's Racing Science Centre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Chemist to join our team in the laboratory.

The successful candidate will provide expert analytical support to our laboratory staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data that meets the requirements of the Queensland Racing Integrity Act 2016 and the Rules of Racing.

The role will involve working closely with our laboratory staff to develop and implement analytical methods, as well as providing technical guidance and support to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement analytical methods to ensure the delivery of high-quality data
  • Provide technical guidance and support to laboratory staff
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to develop and implement laboratory procedures
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Contribute to the development of laboratory policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g. chemistry, biochemistry)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a laboratory setting
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality analytical data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
