**Job Title:** Principal Engineer

**About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing the development and delivery of routine and programmed maintenance programs, and road rehabilitation programs within the district.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage contract performance and construction practices by ensuring efficient procedures are implemented and best practice is achieved.
  • Manage the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model.
  • Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure all quality and environmental aspects of the project are identified and addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
  • Provide support and advice on planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components, or systems within the project and construction practices and problems.
  • Supervise and coordinate resource allocation with the expectation that you would encourage effective teamwork and foster a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
  • Identify and manage networks and alliances of all stakeholders and manage the expectations and issues of all parties, including identifying possible political and high-risk matters to ensure they are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.

About You:

  • You have a degree in Engineering or related field.
  • You have significant experience in project management and engineering roles.
  • You have excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • You have strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
