Agribusiness Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Agribusiness Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customers and providing specialist industry expertise.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about agribusiness and has experience in commercial banking. You will work closely with a supportive Relationship Manager to drive growth through acquisition, increase share of wallet, and referrals.

You will have access to new systems and technologies, which will provide you with great insights and data to understand and anticipate what your customers need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of each customer's business and financial needs
  • Act in the best interest of the customer and apply a customer-centric approach to support their business needs with suitable products and services
  • Provide appropriate solutions for account maintenance and customer needs
  • Maintain a well-managed portfolio compliant with all relevant policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with product partners and other stakeholders to fulfill customer needs
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in commercial banking frontline roles and commercial lending
  • Ability to manage strong customer relationships by handling service queries and solving minor issues
  • Strong communication skills to assist customers effectively
  • Attention to detail when reviewing agreements and contracts
  • Ability to assess a customer's ability to fulfill their credit obligations, considering both qualitative and quantitative factors
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and keep track of customer documentation, banking transactions, and internal communications
  • Familiarity with risk management concepts, particularly in credit risk, risk, and market risk
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as KYC (Know your Customer) and AML (anti-money laundering)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Agricultural industry experience and awareness
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Economics, Accounting, or Ag Science/Economics
