Empire Group is seeking a highly skilled Workplace Health Specialist to join their team.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with the WHS Manager to implement and monitor state-wide WHS matters within a diverse team of building, construction and maintenance field and office staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret WHS legislation, including relevant legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards / International Standards.
- Conduct site WHS&E audits and inspections to ensure both client and contract workers are adhering to WHS legislation and make recommendations to improve on site safety.
- Provide WHS advice on technical matters relating to the building, construction and maintenance industry, particularly in the development of WHS system and processes.
- Assist with the development, review and implementation of Baseline SWMSs and other risk assessments.
- Assist with reporting and investigating WHS&E incidents and contractor notifiable incidents.
- Support return-to-work activities including reviewing and developing suitable duties plans.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 12 months demonstrated WH&S experience.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Proven experience in a workplace health and safety role.
- Strong administration skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
